CBAM Advisory for Exporters
Protect your access to the EU market
The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) puts a carbon price on imports of iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity. Indian exporters must report the embedded emissions of these goods, and from 2026 purchase CBAM certificates against them. We help you calculate embedded emissions accurately, file compliant reports, and cut your exposure before the financial obligation begins.
Who it’s for
- Exporters of steel, aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen and electricity to the EU
- Manufacturers needing verified product-level emission factors
- Procurement and sustainability teams managing EU customer requirements
What we deliver
Tangible outputs, not slideware
Every engagement is scoped to produce decision-ready deliverables your team can act on.
- CBAM applicability and product-scope assessment
- Embedded emissions calculation (direct + indirect) per EU methodology
- Quarterly CBAM report preparation and submission support
- Data systems for installation-level emissions tracking
- Decarbonisation roadmap to reduce future certificate costs
Our approach
How a cbam advisory engagement works
- Step 1
Map
Identify which products and installations fall in scope and what data the EU methodology requires.
- Step 2
Quantify
Calculate embedded direct and indirect emissions and prepare audit-ready CBAM reports.
- Step 3
Reduce
Build a decarbonisation plan that lowers embedded emissions and your future certificate liability.
FAQ
CBAM Advisory — questions answered
CBAM currently covers iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity. The product list is expected to expand over time, so exporters in adjacent sectors should monitor scope changes closely.
The transitional phase (reporting only) runs to the end of 2025. From 2026 the definitive regime begins and EU importers must buy and surrender CBAM certificates for embedded emissions — making accurate, low emissions data commercially important for exporters.
